We first stayed
at the gorgeous Le Miccine villa in 2009 and absolutely fell in love
with every single aspect of it. So much so in fact, we decided we had
to take our children and their families there this past June (2011).
Of course the beauty of Tuscany and the Chianti Region are evident but
it was the spectacular service we received at Le Miccine that really
brought us back. Paula literally made us feel like we were family -
private tours, gifts upon arrival, excellent day-trip and restaurant
recommendations, etc. She took care of everything and made sure our
trip was absolutely amazing. If you are looking for a spacious and
gorgeous villa located on a breathtakingly beautiful vineyard then Le
Miccine is your place. The central location is literally perfect for
day trips to San Gimignano, Siena, Florence, etc. You can avoid taking
your luggage everywhere, get to see all the cities in the most
beautiful region of Italy by day and return to your villa each evening
and enjoy a glass of Paula's Fosso Di Conce or Chianti Riserva on the
patio and literally feel like you are in Heaven. And for the days
when you want to stay put, Le Miccine is still the prefect location!
There is a huge infinity swimming pool, the wine tasting room is
perfect for groups and Paula gives the best wine tours we have ever
experienced! Oh, and one more thing…Paula speaks about 6 languages
fluently and is happy to assist with anything!
The entire Estate is is
absolutely idyllic. Whether for a romantic getaway or honeymoon or a family
vacation, you simply cannot ask for a more perfect location than Le Miccine.
Grazie, Paula! You gave
our family the vacation of a lifetime and we will be forever grateful! And we
are counting down the days until we can return again! The Calta Family Phoenix, Arizona, USA I just wanted to thank everyone at Le Miccine for making our recent visit so special. The accommodations were elegant and peaceful, it was wonderful to sit under the big tree after a long day of sightseeing with a glass of Le Miccine Chianti Classico and just enjoy the quiet. We felt that the winery was very centrally located to allow for many day trips; the in suite directory of places to visit and how to get there really made our trip more complete. The tour of the winery on our last day really made us feel like we were involved with the harvest as the San Geovese grapes were due to be picked the day after we left. I would highly recommend this accommodation as a great example of Tuscan Wine Country.
When you go on vacation, you hope that everything will go well, that it will be as you had imagined it. Well, at Le Miccine, that’s exactly what happened to us. It’s everything we could have asked for. From the moment you drive up the estate’s entrance, lined with tall cypress trees, you are embraced with the charm of this little jewel. The house is a stately stone structure decorated with lush greenery and flowers. Inside, the comfortable apartments have an old world charm but they have been totally restored and are fully equipped with modern utilities. The showers for example are hot and reliable. They have organised information books and materials on just about all you could possibly think of. They have kitchens if you want to prepare meals but you can also have a local restaurant cater anything you may want and if you are like us, you’ll want to try the many local restaurants offering typical Tuscan dishes (and wines of course) at very affordable prices. The owners are a Canadian family with roots in Italy. They and their staff go out their way to make you feel at home (literally) and make sure you have everything you need. The Manager, Paula, is charming and extremely knowledgeable about the art of wine making. She will give you an owners’ tour and show you how she is setting out to produce a truly top quality specialized wine. When you relax on the patio in the evening, enjoying a great glass of Le Miccine’s Chianti Classico, and staring up at the endless stars with not a sound around you, it’s as if time has stopped. You forget you even own a Blackberry here. It’s also a perfect place from which to see the whole area including of course the Chianti region, Sienna, San Gimignano and Florence. It’s best to have a car but don’t count on a GPS. They don’t work well in the hills. Get yourself a good map and you’ll be fine. The scenery around you is a postcard at every bend in the road. It’s fantastic. We will go back for sure. This is what vacations are all about. ~Montreal, Canada. We had the pleasure of staying at Le Miccine while on vacation in Italy during the summer of 2010. The scenery is breathtaking and the rental home is both lovely and comfortable. The home has some fine details that will not go unnoticed. One example is the canopy bed in the master suite with mosquito netting that allowed us to sleep comfortably at night with the window open. The kitchen is small but there is ample room in other areas of the home to spread out. The winery is small with plenty of charm and character. If you stay there definitely ask for a tour of their small but interesting production facility. Most important of all is the owners are very nice and proved to be gracious hosts. If you want to be tucked away in the middle of Tuscany with few to no distractions in a romantic and beautiful setting, then this is the place for you. The only negative I can think of is that to get anywhere you have to drive a significant distance (about 25 Km) on a very windy road, which gets old after about the second trip. On balance the winery is reasonably close to Firenze and San Gimignano and you will want to visit both if you are staying there. In summary we had a near perfect vacation experience staying there. ~San Francisco, California |
